UNP purge?

With charges of fraud and sex abuse escalating the UNP hierarchy is unearthing CV's and bio-data of partymen and sniffing the information filed in by them at Party Headquarters as news has got round that former convicted criminals had changed their names when applying for party membership and nominations.

In the light of the election debacle the UNP seems to be going for a clean image. It is baring its fangs to strike at all frauds including those who claimed to have post graduate qualifications from the halls of academe and went for honorifics associated with doctorates when they had no such qualifications.

Realisation may be late that pilferers and paedophiles have taken cover under the protection of the jumbo which appears to have suddenly awoken from slumber no doubt thirsting for some life giving tonic in these days of a severe drought. How many of these one time culprits will be given reprieves and a chance to be born again is anybody's guess.
