Poetschke joins hands with 'MASS'

S. A. D. Sumanasiri, the Managing Director/CEO of MASS Logistics and Shipping, known in the market as SADS, has recently taken over the controlling interests of the company. MASS Logistics & Shipping has been successful in bagging NCE awards in five consecutive years from it's inception.

The company has appointment Herbert W. Poetschke, a German national, as it's Director-International Affairs.

Poetschke has more than 40 years of Shipping experience having been the Owners Representative for Hansa Line in Sri Lanka, and then for Hapag Lloyd, and lastly for the DSR-Senator Lines - Germany. Poetschke is having his own worldwide Shipping and Freight Forwarding network being operated from Dubai and the head quarters and regional operation centres based in different parts in India under the name "Hansa Translift Shipping".

Another milestone in the company's short history of seven years, where MASS is lead from the front by experienced professionals, who are veterans in the trade and have done well to carry on the good work in maintaining the concept they introduced to the market - "Outsourcing in Shipping".

This is a concept well accepted by some of our premier exporters. Though the trade experienced many constraints, which resulted in a lull during the year under review, MASS has done exceptionally well to maintain their market share in a highly competitive environment.

They consider the dedication and total commitment of their staff members to be their strength.

In addition, MASS has also entered into a joint venture with Green Globe International (Pvt) Ltd., (which is an International Trading House) and intend to develop trading activities in many areas.

S. A. D. Sumanasiri is also the Chairman of Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board. With Herbert Poetschke joining MASS as its Director - International Affairs he is making MASS a truly International organization with a Professional outfit and understanding other cultures, making its presence global.

A new corporate plan has been drawn and a new chapter is added to MASS Organization to diverse and grow with a positive contribution to our Nation.
