Soil, sun and shower help the farmer to reap a bountiful harvest besides his enthusiastic efforts in paddy cultivation. Rice is the staple food of Sri Lankans. Irrigation is available in certain parts of our country but some parts completely depend on rain for paddy cultivation. The gains and losses in cultivation depend on rain.
