'The great white heron' comes first
Laszlo Berta with her Great White Heron also won the 'Bird Life' category and 'Landscapes' category with an image of a foggy forest, while 'Other Animals' category was won by Nishantha Karunarathne with an image of some insects engaged in a chain of love. 'Plant Life' category was won by Raden Jayaman with a texture of a large satin tree. Heshan Kathriarachchi was selected the Young Nature Photographer with his close up of a mosquito on a leaf. The panel of judges included persons drawn from a wide array of disciplines and comprised Lal Anthonis, Gehan de Silva Wijeyeratne, Panduka de Silva, Sarath Perera, Dr. Sriyanie Miththapala and Cecilia McGuire. The winning and commendable images from Nature Photographer - 2004 competition will go public at the Harold Peiris Gallery, Lionel Wendt from 21 to 23, January 2005. |
