PJ Towers agreements to be signed soon

Initial agreements to build the 1,000-bedroomed PJ Towers Hotel will be signed within the next three months. According to the promoters of P.J. Towers Hotels and Chairman Sanasuma Development Prasanna Jayewardene a consortium of investors will invest US$100 million to make this project a reality. Jayewardene will lead the consortium.

The hotel will be built on five acres of land in the Colombo near the Beira Lake.

The hotel is scheduled to be completed within this decade and will give employment to about 2,000 persons directly.

At present we are in the process of selecting the architect, decor and cuisine while we also have to decide on the room rate and type.

The hotel will have a revolving restaurant as well as state-of-the-art facilities.

Last year our country faced the tsunami, the worst tragedy and our people kept everything going, he said.
