Cee Tee Hills - all-time record prices

CTC teas continue to record high prices. The Cee Tee Hills tea factory belongs to the Southern Group at Beralapanathara.

This has been the trend of the Colombo tea auction for many weeks. Prices for PFI from this factory had fetched a record Rs. 70 per Kg and Pekoe Dust was sold at Rs 345 per Kg. The teas were bought by M/s Ceylon Tea Marketing and Union Commodities (Pvt.).

Chairman of the group Thilak Maliduwapathirana said, it is our commitment for quality and supervision to every detail in tea manufacturing that has given us this honour. We are going in for standards such as HACCP and many more. We want to be the best managed and best tea making factory in the island and we are getting close to that target".

He was confident that the factory could achieve that target and also wanted to give the best deal for leaf suppliers who had been with his factory for a long time.
