A boost for VB in Gampaha District
A big boost for the development of volleyball in the Gampaha District
by the Ministry of Skills Development and Public Enterprises Reforms.
Gampaha District which has produced most number of national volleyball
players in the past and present will continue the promotional work
through the clubs and schools in the district.
For further upliftment of volleyball in the Gampaha District, the
Ministry of Skills Development and Public Enterprise Reforms has
allocated a sum of three million rupees to begin work to have 45
volleyball courts amongst the clubs and school grounds.
Sripathi Suriyarachchi, Gampaha District MP, the Minister of Skills
Development and Public Enterprise Reforms last week opened five
volleyball courts at Pamunuvila Maha Vidyalaya, Sapugaskanda MV,
Veyangoda Eluwapitiya Junior School, Gampaha Bandaranaike MV and
Mudungoda Housing Scheme.
The work on the other volleyball courts are expected to be completed
in two months time and will be handed over to the respective clubs and
schools authorities.
