Tree of Life Promotes Ayurveda in Japan

Tree of Life Hotel, Kandy is promoting Sri Lanka's traditional Ayurvedic treatment in Japan through its Ayurveda Resort, Japan.

With the construction of four luxury 'Villas' at the Tree of Life Hotel, Kandy built according to Japanese architecture, the hotel is targeting the high spending Japanese 'up-market' sector, Managing Director, Tree of Life, A. S. Thenuwara said.

"When most of the hotels in Sri Lanka are promoting 'spa', Tree of Life is one of the few hotels which promote our traditional Ayurvedic treatment among foreign tourists," Thenuwara said. With Ayurvedic treatment becoming popular among tourists visiting Sri Lanka, Tree of Life has opened two Ayurvedic Centres in Japan, employing well trained personnel from Sri Lanka. These centres are very popular in Japan. He said that very soon 10 more 'Villas' will be built at Tree of Life, Kandy to cope up with the Japanese up-market tourists who go for Ayurvedic treatment.

Built on a 65-acre marvellously landscaped property at Yahalatenna, Kandy, Tree of Life has always maintained the natural landscape by taking measures to prevent soil erosion and maintaining the natural beauty of the 65-acre land on which the hotel stands. The mountain top majestic swimming pool, at the Tree of Life built at the highest level in Kandy, is a unique feature at the hotel. The swimming pool is a perfect blend of mature.

Warmest hospitality, friendly service and marvellous food have made Tree of Life very popular not only among foreign tourists but Sri Lankans too says the Hotels General Manager, Timothy Paldano.

The hotel has become a haven for honeymooners due to its pleasant and romantic atmosphere.

It is also popular for company picnics family outings, in-house seminars and workshops, weddings and other banquet functions for which the hotel provides all facilities. In addition to the newly built 'Villas' Tree of Life offers 40 deluxe rooms equipped with star class facilities including hot/cold water, mini-bar, TV, telephone and room service.
