The newly refurbished 'Regency Wing' of the landmark Galle Face
Hotel, has now, as its pride in dining, the '1864' restaurant.
'1864' is well equipped with a bar, and a unique 'Wine Cellar',
probably the only such Wine Cellar in a city restaurant.
Elegance in fine dining is the hallmark of '1864'.
Presently '1864' opens for dinner with a wide ranging and reasonably
priced menu, which is a creation of Galle Face Hotel, Executive Chef
Halisha Weerasinghe. Weerasinghe with his wide experience in food and
beverage, has introduced two signature dishes to '1864', - 'Lam Shank'
and "Halbesha Seared Salmon" which have already become 'big hits' at
'1864'.
Business Lunch
Food and Beverage Manager, Galle Face Hotel, Nihal Perera intends
opening 1864' for lunch with an attractive 'Businessman's' lunch
promising a fast and satisfying meal. The ambience of '1864' is
complemented with the Wine Cellar which is stacked with a wide range of
wines of different vintages and brands hardly found in Sri Lanka.
