Dolce Ed Vivace 2006 - A one of a kind Brass Band

Genesis of a new musical era...by the Senior Brass Band of Musaeus College is the second Inter School Band Festival organised by the Senior Brass Band of Musaeus College, will be held on Saturday 22, July at the BMICH from 3.30 p.m. onwards. Fifteen schools have been invited for this spectacular musical festival. A total of 750 young musicians and dancers will participate to bewitch the audience with an evening of fine music and dance.

The Senior Brass B and of Musaeus College was inaugurated in 1987 under the supervision of Mrs. Marie Armstrong. The Band reached the position it has today with a start of 3 trumpets, 2 clarinets and a few melodicas.

Today a mere 19 years later, Musaeus College boasts of a well equipped Brass Band with adequate training and strict discipline, combined to result in near perfection. The Band participates frequently in all school and national level functions held in various areas all over the Island. Just be there and get ready to expect the unexpected.

Instructors are Mrs. M. Armstrong and Mr. Ranjith Navarathna.

The Teacher-in-Charge is Mrs. J. Gannoruwa Basnayake.

The band leader is Mihirangi Doraliyagoda and assistant band leader is Rajini Perera.
