National Business Excellence 2006 makes headway

National Business Excellence 2006, the premier business excellence awards competition organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is fast becoming the benchmark award for business excellence in the country, and has attracted wide participation this year too.

Launched in 2004, the National Business Excellence Awards is now an annual event in the calendar of the Sri Lankan Corporate Sector. Having past Gold Award winners, such as Dialog Telekom Ltd in 2004 and Slimline (Pvt) Ltd in 2005, many leading Private Sector Businesses have been participating in this competition and have secured awards.

This prestigious event is sponsored by Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, a leading telecommunication company in the country as the principal sponsor. The Edna Group of Companies (E I & M (Pvt) Ltd) has come in as event sponsor and Nawaloka Hospitals Ltd, DFCC Bank, National Development Bank, Hatton National Bank and Standard Chartered Bank are the award sponsors. The print media sponsor for the event is the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd Daily News.

The selection of winners will be done by a highly professional panel of judges led by Prof.Gunapala Nanayakkara, Director of the Post Graduate Institute of Management who is also the Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission.
