Women’s athletics and Decathlon for men Oct 28 and 29

The Women’s Athletic Championships together with Heptathlon and Decathlon events included will be conducted by the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka on October 28 and 29 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

Entries close on October 10 with Mrs. K. G. Badra, Chairman, Women’s Committee, Athletic Association of Sri Lanka, No. 33, Torrington Avenue, Colombo 7.

The events to be worked off are Under-12 - 100, 200 metres, long jump, high jump. Under-14 - 100, 200 metres, long jump, high jump, under-16 - 100, 200, 400, 800 metres, 100 metres hurdles, long jump, high jump, putt shot, discus throw, javelin throw.

Under-18 - 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 metres, 100 metres hurdles, long jump, high jump, putt shot, discus throw, javelin throw.

Under-20 - 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000 metres, 100 metres hurdles, long jump, high jump, putt shot, discus throw, javelin throw.

Over-20 - 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000, 10,000 metres, 100 metres hurdles, 400 metres hurdles, long jump, high jump, triple jump, putt shot, discus throw, javelin throw.

Only three events per competitor will be allowed.

The Decathlon Championships will be for men while women will compete in the Heptathlon Championships.
