Colombo International School (Kandy Branch) will become the first
International school to take to rugby from Kandy when they start
practices at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium this weekend.
The task of teaching the finer points of this extremely popular game
in the hill capital has been entrusted to West Samoan and Kandy Sports
Club rugby coach Laga Tavita Tulogese who has done a wonderful job in
Kandy helping many schools.
The Sports Teacher in charge at CIS Kandy Branch Ms Padma Ekanayake
said that the boys are agog with interest and for long they have been
longing to play this game. This move has had the blessings of the
Principal of the school who will be present when the schoolboys scrum
down at the practices on the first day itself.
The ruggerites from the Colombo International School had their first
practice sessions at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium on Friday under the
watchful eyes of Tavita Tulagose. |
