Ashanthi and Chinthy sign up as KIT's new brand ambassadors

Sri Lanka's signing sensations Ashanthi and Chinthy were recently signed up as the newest Brand Ambassadors for Dialog Telekom's mega pre-paid brand KIT.

Ashanthi is Sri Lanka's own soul diva, pollinating the globe with ethnic Hip Hop and R&B. She is the mistress of mellow, the queen of slick lyrics, the revolutionary of fusion and the first, youngest and only female artiste in the country to be signed to an international record label (Sony BMG).

During the last two years, Ashanthi has toured Europe, the Mediterranean, North America, Australasia, the Middle East as well as most of the Asian subcontinent and the Far East wowing audiences in the global arena. Her major performances include appearances at the Sydney Opera House, Trafalgar Square and the Millennium Dome, the Cannes Film Festival etc.

Chinthy who recorded his first track when he was 17 years old, has been gaining experience both composing and producing music. On his trip to Australia he was involved in a funk band in Melbourne and even went on to study sound engineering at the BOX HILL Tafe Institute. His album containing hit singles such as "Naree", "Chanchalai", "Andura Rayen" and the biggest hit "Sokare", proved to be a mega success and was sold out on the day of its release. He is currently working on his next album, due for release in February 2007.

Says Ashanthi, "I am proud to be a brand ambassador for Dialog and am certain this partnership will bridge music and technology as we go together to reach new heights". Added Chinthy, "Dialog has done a lot for the development of the country. It gives me great pride and pleasure that they have recognised my abilities as an artiste".

Elaborating on the decision to sign up the two up coming stars, Nushad Perera General Manager, Sales and Marketing at Dialog says, "We have always had the ability to pick future stars. We were the first to recognise the immense talent of Bathiya and Santhush and sign them to our brand.

The same foresight applies to Ashanthi and Chinthy. They are young, energetic, and immensely talented, and have gained the respect and adoration of the younger generation in Sri Lanka".

The Company is planning an extensive campaign for KIT featuring jingles composed and sung by both Ashanthi and Chinthy, as well as TV commercials, press ads, outdoor campaigns and website campaigns featuring their music and images. Ashanthi and Chinthy will also participate in KIT branded events throughout 2007.
