Maithripala on SLFP - UNP talks
The Government said in a press release that it would not hold any
responsibility on different opinion and certain newspaper reports on the
SLFP-UNP talks, since such reports and opinion are made on their own.
The press release signed by SLFP General Secretary Maithripala
Sirisena further said that certain electronic and print medias carry
various opinions and other information on the recent talks between the
two parties.
He said the President has approved the decision taken by the central
committee of the SLFP to create national consensus for a common agenda
to solve the national problem.
The President invited the UNP to join such a common agenda.
The discussions between the two parties were held with full openness
and transparency and a joint press releases were issued after every such
talk.
All electronic and print media gave publicity to such press releases
to educate the public on the outcome of the talks.
The press release stated that the parties have not issued any other
information than the content of these joint press releases. |
