Civilians flee Vakarai
Over 1,100 civilians had moved from uncleared
area to Batticaloa last week. Of them 700 civilians were Madhu
pilgrims that had been forcibly held by the LTTE, a spokesmen for
the media Centre for National Security told the Sunday Observer.

Nadarajah Raviraj killing: CID takes over investigation
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has
taken over the investigation into the assassination of MP Nadarajah
Raviraj and Police Constable Lakshman Lokuwella on a directive by
President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The Scotland Yard detectives are to
assist the CID to trace the assassins of the murder.
