Colombo Mayor to meet vehicle park owners

The private vehicle park owners who charge exorbitant fees will be dealt soon.

About six vehicle parks in the city managed by private sector institutions are charging high levy from vehicle owners.

Colombo Mayor, Uvaiz Mohamed Imtiyaz told the `Sunday Observer' that he had received a lot of complaints with regard to private sector vehicle parks.

"However, no one has complain of about the vehicle parks owned by the CMC such as the one located opposite Lake House at D. R. Wijewardene Mawatha, since the vehicle levy is between Rs. 15 and Rs. 40 a day," he said.

Some park owners at Bambalapitiya charging Rs. 50 for the first hour and Rs. 30 for each per additional hour.

The Mayor said that he would summon all private sector park owners for a meeting

to discuss about the matter.
