Sripathi taken into custody

Former Minister Sripathi Sooriyaarchchi was yesterday remanded till March 20, on the alleged misuse of public property. He was summoned to the CID yesterday at 10.00 am to record a statement in connection with the offence.

He was taken under the Public Property Act No 2, 1982, amended in 1999 Act No 28. He was produced before the Fort Additional Magistrate and remanded till March 20. The judge instructed the police to produce him before Kaduwela Magistrate on Tuesday.
