Thunder-showers, strong winds forecast

Evening thunder showers accompanied by strong winds are expected in most parts of the island till the end of this month, the Meteorology Department said yesterday. This will help increase the water levels of the reservoirs much to the relief of those who feared an imminent power cut, sources said.

However the public is advised to take precautions and adequate measures to reduce the possible damage due to lightning, the Met. Department said. (TS)
