Pen & Ink Lines

Artist Chandana Ranaweera has held 8 one man exhibitions as a career artist. At his last exhibition titled 'Lineal Lyrics' held at 'Maha Gedara' Alawwa the artist showed over 40 numbers of his line drawings similar to the ones shown here.

Ranaweera works using different mediums at different times and at each of his exhibitions he brings out a series of work based on each of these mediums. In what ever medium he works in, the artist always has his titles based on local subjects and themes.

His work reflects his fascination with rural life and the many aspects of it that has surrounded him since childhood. The village temple, paddy fields, flora and fauna and some of the festivals like the New Year and Wesak are some of the topics that have set deeply in his mind and has reflected regularly in his work.

In this last exhibition of his Ranaweera has managed to capture some of the subjects that has always been closer to his heart as evident here.
