Changes in flight schedules
Singapore Airlines and Emirates will fly to Sri Lanka during the day
time until further notice while Cathay Pacific has suspended flights
again after the third air attack by the LTTE.
Singapore International Airlines will operate to Colombo daily in the
morning instead of the night flights until further notice, said a
release from the airline.
The release said this measure was taken following a security review
and therefore we will be operating our daily services between Colombo
and Singapore on a revised schedule.
Singapore Airlines never suspended their flights which shows the
confidence they have in the country, said a travel source.
Emirates following a review of the situation in Sri Lanka's capital,
recommenced services, during the day time on May 4. Emirates Flight
EK348 will leave Dubai at 0330hrs and arrive in Colombo at 0915hrs, and
then to Singapore and Jakarta.
However, the return flight - EK349 - will leave Jakarta at 2030hrs
and then to Dubai via Singapore to reach Dubai at 0330hrs, the next day.
Similarly, EK559 will leave Dubai at 1945hrs, arriving in Male at
0055hrs, the next day, returning later that morning to Dubai at 0520hrs.
EK550 from Dubai to Colombo has been retimed, departing Dubai at 0245hrs
and arriving in Colombo at 0845hrs.
