Don Bosco premier league division two champions

Soccer: Don Bosco Sports Club, Negombo emerged division two Premier League champions, defeating Sarasavi Sports Club on a penalty shot-out 5-3 after the final ended in a gearless draw at the Don Bosco Technical Centre grounds, Negombo.

As expected, the game turned out to be a thrilling one with both teams playing within their limits. The referee implemented the penalty shoot-out and Don Bosco 'lifted' the title with Sumith Fernando, E.D. Miranda, D.K. Fernando, P. Manjula and W.D. Fernando making no mistakes with their kicks. For losers, Sarasavi SC, Danushka Perera, D. Manoj and Vidura Ranga scored with their kicks. With this win, Don Bosco has been promoted to division one along with Sarasavi SC.

Rev. Fr. Anthony H. Pinto was the chief guest and gave away the awards, Manilal Fernando, Chairman, Management Committee and the vice President, Asian Football Federation was the guest of honour.
