KDSDF netball tourney in full swing

NETBALL: The netball tournament matches in the Kandy District Sports Development Foundation (KDSDF) organised tournament for 20 police stations in the Kandy District are going on smoothly.

The netball tournaments are organised by Maurice Perera of rugby fame on behalf of the Sports Development Foundation assisted by National Netball coach T. M. P. Kumarihamy of the Ministry of Sports.

The tournament is conducted in three age categories - under 15, 22 and over 22 and initially each police station will conduct the preliminary round matches and select 2 teams for the final round. The final round matches will be played at the Bogambara grounds by the end of November this year.

Kandy District Sports Foundation also organised Inter-Club cricket, soccer and tennis tournaments and also cycle races for men and women, road races for men and women and a 'Bak Maha Ulela' spending over Rs. 2 million to spread sport all round.
