TMVP submits 16 names as heads of local bodies
New members to take oaths on March 24:
The TMVP which secured a landslide victory at the
Local Government polls in the Batticaloa district last week has
submitted the list of names of sixteen of its elected members including
a woman candidate to be appointed as Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the
eight Pradeshiya Sabha local bodies in the Batticaloa district.

‘Terrorism cannot co-exist with democracy’ - PM

terrorism completely differs from the problems of the Tamil community in

UNP’s boycott of B’caloa polls regrettable
The UNP’s National Organiser S. B. Dissanayake said
that the UNP’s ‘vow’ to support the Government to implement the 13th
Amendment, which is its brainchild, would be strengthened if President
Mahinda Rajapaksa would genuinely devolve power.
