by Ishara Mudugamuwa
The National Lotteries Board (NLB) launched the New Airport lottery
to raise funds to construct the Weerawila airport.
The NLB introduced lotteries such as Mahajana Sampatha, Govi Setha,
Sewana and Jayawiru to support livelihood development projects since it
was set up in 1963.
Chairman NLB, Upali Liyanage said "for every 10,000 tickets sold, we
will draw a winner and this will increase the chances of winning."
The New Airport lottery has two first prizes and three consolation
prizes. Two Indigo cars and a LCD television are among the winning
prizes.
The NLB said if the winner is a Sri Lankan or a foreigner, they will
be permitted to clear the car duty free even if they wish to sell in
conformity with these laws. "The winner will be notified after the
draw," NLB sources said. |
