Top musclemen in action

WEIGHT LIFTING: The top 14 musclemen in Sri Lanka are among the 43 entries received for the 2nd Mr. Classic Championships of the Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Body Building and Fitness Federation (SLBBFF). The semi-finals are to be staged today at the Central YMCA at 9 a.m., while the finals are to take place at the Vincent Dias Stadium, Badulla on April 5.

Among the top musclemen on show are Sisira Kumara (class winner of Mr. Sri Lanka contest last year). Y. G. Amila from Army, Lalith Nishantha from Army, Viraj Priyankara from Amry, W. D. G. S. Wickremasinghe from Army. D. M. Indika from Army, H. A. Priyashantha from Army. Kelum Shamika Perera, W. M. Jayatilleke from Kandy, Shaan Ratnayake also from Kandy, G. W. T. V. Chndrasiri from Colombo YMCA, M. A. Silva also of Colombo YMCA, Wasantha Kumara from Katana and Anuruddha Kumara from Galle.

"Minister Dilan Perera is very keen on staging this event is Badulla and the top 10 from the semi-finals today will vie for honours at the Vincent Dias Stadium. Mr. India, Rex Varghese is scheduled to arrive in the country on April 4, and will give on exhibition" said the Chairman of the Interim Committee of the SLBBFF, Jeffrey Schucroft.
