The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has decided to suspend the public gallery and the trading floor at the CSE premises due to security reasons from Tuesday, April 1. Investors have been requested to go to the public galleries of the stock broking firms for trading. Brokers when contacted said they opposed the move and attributed the suspension to cut down on electricity charges.

Extension of GSP Plus scheme an uphill task - Prof. Lakdas Fernando

The extension of the GSP Plus scheme appears to be an uphill task since Sri Lanka did not fully satisfy the conditions set out by the European Union such as Human Rights, good governance and environment, said Chairman, Sri Lanka Apparel Institute, Prof. Lakdas Fernando.
