Aitken Spence unveils Diamond Club concept

Aitken Spence Hotels which is expanding its portfolio of hotels and resorts in India, the Maldives and Oman launched its Diamond Club concept last week for the benefit of its clientele.

Aitken Spence Hotel’s Managing Director, Malin Hapugoda unveiling the Diamond Club membership said it wasn’t just a membership of another Club but one that provides several benefits to its members.

“The Diamond Club” concept has a multitude of privileges for clients who check into our hotels.” He said Aitken Spence was the first company to go to the Maldives, India and the Middle East. “Our flagship hotel Kandalama established the importance of environmental sustenance of the hotel industry.

Kandalama was known as one of the 15 hotels in the world as a Green hotel,” he said.

Marketing Director Anil Udawatte said the Diamond Club was a unique concept offered for the first time by a Sri Lankan hotel. It is an exclusive loyalty based program to reward its customers.

“We want to give our clients 10 per cent of what they spend at our hotels.” He said every one hundred rupees spent was equivalent to a single point and redemption of points was done at a future booking.

“Diamond Club members will have the most preferred rates from our hotels. Even room updates and transfer of points to another person can be done. Membership of the Diamond Club can be obtained by spending Rs 10,000 at a hotel resort. Meanwhile, the Diamond Club website too was launched for the benefit of clients.

The website is linked to terminals of Aitken Spence Hotels.

Udawatte said the idea of the Diamond Club was to reward the existing repeat clientele as well as to consolidate a loyal customer base.

The Diamond Club concept will be extended to hotels operated by them in India, the Maldives and in Oman.

The accumulated points will be valid for two years and thereafter will be deleted from the system.
