Pakistani PM pledges to restore Constitution

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday expressed his government’s strong resolve to restore the 1973 Constitution in order to ensure supremacy of parliament and strengthen all state institutions, including the judiciary.

The prime minister was talking to a delegation of members of the Balochistan Assembly at the Pime Minister’s House here on Monday.

The delegation was led by Deputy Speaker Matiullah Agha.“The foremost objective of the democratic government is to serve the people and to provide them equal economic opportunities, despite financial constraints,” the prime minister said.
