Nittawela grounds ready for the big occasion

RUGBY: It’s all ready for the big occasion - the Nittawela grounds of Kandy Sports Club planted with a new coating of Bermuda grass under the watchful eyes of planter and consultant Tony Witham.

The ground looks picturesque and the correct setting for the forthcoming International Rugby Sevens.

It’s a good job, well done! It cost Kandy Sports Club around 3.2 million rupees, but staging an international tournament the organisers had to lay out a fine surface so that it will fit the occasion as the International Rugby Sevens to be staged here in Kandy.
