Wake up call surprises birthday boy Attanayake

General Secretary of the United National Party Tissa Attanayake on his birthday yesterday received a wake up call around 6 in the morning.

Assuming that the caller should be none other than his party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, Attanayake rushed to answer the call and surprised to identify the caller at the other end was none other than the first citizen of the country.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa wished Attanayake many happy returns on the latter's 47th birthday and praised him for the aggressive role played by him in the party despite Attanayake's harsh criticism of the government.
