Owner of satellite equipment stakes claim

A person from Kurunegala has come forward to stake his claim for the sophisticated and expensive satellite communication equipment which were found in a container and were taken into custody by Sri Lanka Customs.

A spokesman from the customs said that the documents related to the importation of satellite communication equipment produced by him are under investigation.

According to the documents the equipment had been imported by him to be used for deep sea fishing in Trincomalee. (LSAW)
