Air Force go down fighting to Havelocks

RUGBY: Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club came closer of creating a major upset as they went down fighting to the more fancied Havelocks Sports Club by 24 points to 20 points in their Caltex inter club A division league rugby tournament match worked off at Ratmalana yesterday.

Havelocks Sports Club collected their points from three goals and one penalty having led 14-10 at half time. The Airmen responded with two goals and two penalties.

Scrum half Dilan de Zoysa, number eight Rajiv Ganapathy and winger Chanaka Fonseka scored a try each for Havelocks SC while fly half Samatha Lakshan converted all three tries and also put over a penalty.

Full back Charith Seneviratne and centre Roshan Ratnayake scored a try each for Air Force SC with fly half Chanaka Chandimal converting both tries and also put over two penalties.
