Mercantile Football Association elect new office-bearers

FOOTBALL: The 87th annual general meeting of the Mercantile Football Association was held recently and the following office-bearers were elected for the period (2008/2009).

Patron: Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka, Vice-Patrons: Messrs M. Manilal Fernando (Holcim (Ltd), Trevor Rockermann (Hayleys Group), Gerald Perera (Hirdaramani Group).

President: M. Milton Fernando (Sri Lanka Catering Services Ltd), Vice-Presidents: Messrs T.F. Cassim (Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya), R.A. Wimalasena (Lake House), George Weerakkody (Ceylinco Consolidated Ltd). General Secretary: B.M. Godwin (Int'l Construction consortium Ltd), Asst. Secretary: N.M. Jansz (John Keells Holdings Group).

Treasurer: K.A.E. Atapattu (Aitken Spence Shipping Ltd), Asst. Treasurer: Piyal O. Perera (Seylan Bank Ltd).
