Seminar on Management of Ocean Resources

The Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka recognises the vast potential for exploitation of ocean resources and the need to ensure its optimum utilisation particularly at a time Sri Lanka is going through an economic crisis.

Having taken a broad overview of the marine environment and ocean resources, the Chamber has succeeded in bringing together some of the most knowledgeable and internationally respected resource persons to a common forum by hosting a seminar on Management of Ocean Resources on June 24 at the Hotel Galadari.

Technical sessions will be chaired by Dr. Ranjith Galappatti, Chairman of Lanka Hydraulics Institute, Senior Specialist in Coastal and River Hydraulics with Senior Hydrographer H.M.J. Wickramaratne to introduce the subject.


Union Assurance - 'Reaching new heights'

Union Assurance PLC held its "20th Annual Awards" ceremony at the Waters Edge.

With nearly 2500 sales staff competing for top spot, it was an elated Prasanna Senarathne who took the coveted "Champion of Champions" award for Life Insurance while Eric Upashantha received "The Most Outstanding Sales Person Award" for General Insurance.

Prasanna Senarathne received the award for the Best New Business Producer and also qualified to participate in the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and in the General Insurance sector Eric Upashantha received the award for the Best Sales Manager too.
