Be good to be praised

Some are praised
Due to their good conduct
Although some have to earn.
And others will praise you
If you possess a good reputation
But they will insult you
If your conduct is not so good
But you can be praised
By spending your wealth
You have to earn good
And bury bad to be praised
But remember to do the right thing
Regardless of praise

IPL fever

No matter, if you are six or sixty
Everybody seems getting attracted.
The atmosphere is rocking as
We are heading towards a dramatic climax

Has anyone thought, would it be like this?
Gilly keeps for Vaasy while
Dwayne and Polly striking together
At the Wankhede, Mumbai!!

Supports from home and away towards
Each and every aspect of the game.
The entire world seems to be united
As the game progresses with its spirit.

Beating of drums with the maximum sixes
As the cheerleaders give a passion to seers' eyes.
Each and everyone seems to be contented
As the fun and entertainment exist at their top.

Commitment, aspiration and enthusiasm
Getting together with team spirit,
Enjoy live actions, in cricket
And be united as one family.

No matter who is going to win and who is going to lose
But it's a game of spirit

Awaiting your arrival

I need you mama
I keep remembering you every moment
I feel lonely
Please come back to me, mama

I always fantasize our sweet memories
What about you?
Those days we used to laugh together
We used to sing together,
Mama, I still hear your lovely voice
I want to ask from you.
Why did you leave me?
Now your daughter is alone......
Don't you know that......?
You have left me for nine years
But your sweet and lovely memories are eternal
I love you mama
Please come soon.

From: Your lovely daughter, Thamara Christine Lansigama

From the fisherman to his wife

Face was not covered, with a white veil.
Bangles were not rattling, around the wrist.
A bouquet of flowers, was not carried.
But you came to me, more lovingly than a bride
Who dressed in gold and white.

Today is the third day, of our marriage.
Releasing my rough hands, from your soft ones,
Though I still feel, the warmth of your hands.
Say 'Goodbye' to be away, just for a short time
Though there may be, no return

Do not wait for me, sitting on the threshold,
Looking at the sea, at night feeling the cool sea breeze
It will make you hopeless and disappoint you
Think always that, life is a dewdrop
Which gets vanished seeing the sun.

Sighs of Belvoir

What more unfortunate,
Weary of breath,
Gayani, pedagogue enunciate
Gone to her death.

Look; her accomplishments
Memorabilia like monuments,
Whilst tears continuously,
Drip from disciples, yodelling
Taking her constantly;
Loving and admiring.

Teacher colleagues respectfully,
Think of her stilly,
Humbly and humanly;
Put on merits of her,
All what reminds of her
Now thought tenderly.

The melancholy looks of warden
Tells what he thinks of this Maiden,
Much worry in finding a person,
To cement the vacuum with dominie,
To sail Belvoir ship, leading.

Sisterly, brotherly,
Feeling changed not heartily,
Love kindles the hearts;
To wish God's providence,
To you; the mortal one.

- A Colleague.

Water

All once one place:
Godwanaland,
The great land-mass
in the age of innocence.
Earth was corrupted,
the sea flooded in.
The land was divided,
left with this paradise.
Reason why we,
Ceylonese
love water.
A symbol of regeneration
The source of our
Life and Death.

You're my world

When I'm walking
along the path of life
U are a shade to me
like a huge tree
When I'm down hearted
due to blames and threats
U are a soft tune
which heals my mind
calm and relax
My Thaththa......
U teach me to smile
When others want to see my tears
U teach me to love
when others teach me to hate
U taught the way of living
I'm still your little daughter
who is hanging on your small finger
and walking with u.
My Thaththa,
U are my world
