Mega tour, workshop for German travel agents

Sri Lanka Tourism together with SriLankan Airlines and their ground handling agents will host a Mega Familiarization Tour and a workshop for 100 German travel agents from June 8 to June 13.

The agents were chosen on their past performance in generating tourists to Sri Lanka. Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism, Renton de Alwis, hopes that this would provides an opportunity for Sri Lanka to showcase and push the products and services in the German market.

The agents, while in Sri Lanka , will be exposed to various attractions and will gain first-hand experience and knowledge in selling and recommending the destination to their clients.

The mega tour is planned to generate maximum promotional publicity through FVW and Touristik Aktuell, the two leading travel magazines of Germany. Two journalists from the magazine publishing houses will also be in Sri Lanka to attend the workshop.

The objective of the workshop is to create awareness about the destination and motivate them to sell and promote more effectively. (JJ)
