Shalitha Wijesundera new chairman of NEDA

Shalitha Wijesundera assumed duties as the new Chairman of the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), an institution coming under the purview of the Ministry of Enterprise Development & Investment Promotion.

In line with the Mahinda Chinthanaya, the National Enterprise Development Authority was established in 2006 with a view to promote support encourage and facilitate small and medium enterprises.

Wijesundera, a lawyer by profession, is a son of the late Professor Stanley Wijesundera and a nephew of the late business magnate tycoon Upali Wijewardena. He s an old boy of Royal College and holds a Bachelor of Science (Econ) degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He is the SLFP organiser for Biyagama.
