Two-day workshop by Sai Seva Samithi and UNWH
Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Sri Lanka in collaboration with the
United Nations World Habitat has organised a two-day workshop on "Human
Values in Water Sanitation and Hygiene Education' on Saturday and
Sunday, August 30 and 31 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Sapphire
Room of the Ceylon Continental Hotel.
The main objective of the workshop would be to educate the
policy-makers and school teachers to take long term measures to change
the attitudes and behaviour towards the use of water, hygienic and
sanitation habits.
The entrance to the seminar would be free of charge for selected
gurus, teachers and educationists from schools and higher educational
institutions.
The program will be facilitated by officials from the United Nations
World Habitat with Sir (Dr) Art-ong Jumsai, Director of Institute of
Sathya Sai Education in Human Values, Thailand who was the former
Minister of the Royal Thai Government, with Ms Angela Loraine Burrows,
Deputy Director, Sri Sathya Sai School, Bangkok.
The seminar will be presided over by Home Affairs and Public
Administration Minister Karu Jayasuriya with Education Minister Susil
Premajayanth, Education Minister Wiswa Warnapala, Urban Development
Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and the Environment and Resources Minister
Champika Ranawaka as guest of honour.
