FLASH: A bomb explosion in Pettah: 45 wounded

A bomb had been exploded in the Olcot Mawatha, Pettah in Colombo around 12.15 p.m. today, 30 August. The Director of the National hospital Colombo, Dr Hector Weerasinha said that 45 people suffered injuries were admitted to the hospital.

First postal vote result forecasts victory for UPFA

The first postal vote result of the Sabaragamuwa and North Central Provincial Council elections was released at 10.35pm yesterday. The United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) received 4213 votes while the United National Party (UNP) obtained 1810 votes in Ratnapura district.
