D.S. Senanayake bags International honours

D.S. Senanayake College did their country proud when they emerged as runners-up at the International Convention on Student's Quality Control Circles 2008 held at the Yiditepe University in Istanbul, Turkey.

D.S. also clinched five other awards - runners-up in the presentation category on 'Reduction of emission of methane in the environment', 'Best debate team' award, the 'Best actor' award for team leader Senel Wanniarachchi, 'Best female portrayal' for Suchiraka de Silva and 'Best proposition speaker' for Jihan Riza.

An ecstatic Senel said, "We gave a final presentation on 'Quality can innovate unity' which was vital for us to obtain these awards".

Other Sri Lankan schools which participated were Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Issipatana College and Baslica College, Ragama.

Under the supervision of their Teacher-in-Charge, Mrs. Wansaja Abayanake, the team comprised Dinuka Gunawardane, Dewmin Wickremasinghe, Imash Minoka, Lakmin Wickremesinghe, Omar Amthad, Neshan Abeysinghe and Kithmin Wickremesinghe.
