Business Council at 'INTRADE Malaysia 2008'
The Sri Lanka - Malaysia Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of
Commerce participated in the INTRADE Malaysia 08, trade fair organised
by MATRADE, at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre, Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
The Sri Lankan delegates had the opportunity of displaying Sri Lankan
products and services and also participated in the one on one-business
meetings which was successfully arranged by MATRADE.
The Sri Lanka - Malaysia Business Council booth was opened by Sri
Lanka's High Commissioner in Malaysia Dr. D. Ranasinghe by lighting of
the oil lamp together with Minister Counseller (Commercial) of the High
Commission D. Jinadasa and SLMBC officials.
Mackwoods Ltd, Chemanex PLC, Multichemi International Ltd, idac (Pvt)
Ltd, Malship (Ceylon) Ltd, Macksons Ltd, Board of investment of Sri
Lanka, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Tea Board and the
Sri Lanka Tourist Board displayed company brochures at the SLMBC booth.
The SLMBC booth received over thirty-five inquiries from trade
visitors during the exhibition.
The Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Council together with the Sri Lankan
High Commission in Malaysia participated in the exhibition. MATRADE
(Malaysia External Trade Development Co-operation) sponsored by offering
SLMBC two booths free in this global INTRADE exhibition.
The business meeting was represented by 38 Sri Lankans.
"Everyone who participated had a very successful session.
Representatives from all over the world-China, US and UK and over 700
businessmen participated, said Immediate Past President SLMBC and
Managing Director idac (Pvt) Ltd. Dr. Rohitha Silva.
