Edna distributes chocolate stocks islandwide

Edna commenced distribution of new stocks of chocolates, candies and wafer biscuits replenishing stocks in over 60,000 outlets islandwide.

The brand Edna which commanded a market share of 42% (source ACNielsen) in September, launched a seasonal marketing campaign bringing to market the full range of its products for the festive season with the expectation of recapturing the share the brand lost due to the enforced absence from the market during the past two months.

Marketing Manager of Edna Chocolates Thusitha Wijesinghe, who flagged off the fleet of distribution vehicles, showed visible relief upon waving off the fresh stocks, after months of interruption caused by false charges of contamination that were proved baseless by international testing authorities.

"We have faith in our customers and retailers, especially since they had expressed their support and their demands when the products were not available in the market.

We are confident that we can again achieve market leader position before long," said Wijesinghe.
