Chevron funds new recording room for handicapped graduates
Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC will fund a new recording room for the
Sri Lanka Council of Visually Handicapped Graduates at their premises in
Moratuwa. The organisation has also contributed towards the construction
of their new office facility in the same premises.
A presentation was made by officials of the Sri Lanka Council of
Visually Handicapped Graduates to President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the
presence of the Management of Chevron at a ceremony recently at Temple
Trees to commemorate the completion of the new premises and to coincide
with International White Cane Day.
Chevron's association with the Sri Lanka Council of Visually
Handicapped Graduates commenced in January 2007 based on an appeal made
by President Rajapaksa on their behalf. An initial presentation of one
million rupees was presented by the management of Chevron to the Sri
Lanka Council of Visually Handicapped Graduates at a ceremony at Temple
Trees to support this project. Subsequently, a further sum was also
donated towards the construction and refurbishment of the much needed
sound proof room at the facility.
