Liberal Party salutes commitment of forces

The Liberal Party commended the Security Forces for taking control of Vanni by capturing Kilinochchi.

The Leader of the Liberal Party, Kamal Nissanka in a press statement said that the capture of Kilinochchi by the security forces is a significant step towards defeating separatism and facism and the honour should be given to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the security forces and all those who contributed to the victory. "The war is not a bed of roses and forces had dedicated themselves under difficult ground conditions though some politicians in the Opposition try to find fault and underestimate the dedication of the security forces", he said.

He said the activities of the LTTE had been a threat to all sectors of the society, Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims.
