Renowned meditation guru on five-day visit
The world renowned meditation teacher Ajahn Brahmavamso will deliver
sermons on the Noble Eightfold Path and conduct guided meditation at
several centres during a five-day stay in Sri Lanka later this month.
The visit is sponsored by the Buddhist Society of Western Australia (BSWA).
In addition to two programs in Colombo - one at Navarangahala on
Sunday 25 January and the other at the BMICH on Wednesday, January 28,
he will visit several monasteries in the outskirts of Colombo and in the
outstations.
He starts his program on January 24 at Na-Uyana Monastery in
Kurunegala when he will deliver a sermon on `The two types of
Religion-Revealed and Realised' (Samma Ditti) from 8 - 10 in the
morning.

January 24:
2.00-4.00 p.m.- At the Arts Theatre, Peradeniya University - Topic:
`Actions speak louder than words' (Samma Kammanta)
January 25:
8.30-11.00 am - At Navarangahala Theatre, Royal College - Topic:
`Mindfulness is more than you think' (Samma Sati) - 3.00-5.00 pm - At
Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara - Topic: `The Kamma that leads to Liberation'

January 26:
9.00-11.00 a.m. - At Kalutara Bodhi - Topic: `Stillness is the way
out of Samsara' (Samma Samadhi)
January 27:
8.30-10.30 a.m. - At Ellekanda Monastery, Matara - Topic: `If you
can't improve on the Silence, keep quiet' (Samma Vaca)
January 28:
9.00-11.00 a.m. - At the BMICH (Talk and discussion in English only)
- Topic: `The best effort is the effort to let go' (Samma Vayama)
3.00-6.00 p.m. - At Polgasowita Monastery, Piliyandala - Topic: `The
best preparation for dying well is living well' (Samma Ajeeva)
All the Dhamma talks other than the one at the BMICH will be
translated into Sinhala by Venerable Abhaya Thera, who was ordained by
Ajahn Brahmavamso.
