Muthaiyankaddu luxury camp captured

A well fortified LTTE training base, where a top leader was in hiding, in Muthaiyankaddu in Mullaittivu was captured by the troops of Task Force 4 yesterday.

Unconfirmed sources said that they believe that Prabhakaran's son Charles Anthony was living in the training centre, which boasts a luxury underground bunker with electricity. The centre which had the capacity to train over 600 cadres, is a well equipped computer training centre and a base for physical training. Providing training for both males and females, the centre is situated in the thick jungle, eight kms away from the South West of Puthuiriyakuppu.

A large stock of weapons, dry rations, camouflage huts and sleeping materials were found in the camp. The troops who confronted heavy resistance from the LTTE, were able to recover four bodies of LTTE cadres. The separate chambers with barbed wires were built for punishment of cadres for disobedient. Under the instruction of the Task Force 4 commander, Col. Nishantha Wanniarachchi, the troops of the 14 Sinha Regiment has captured the training centre, which is one of the biggest LTTE training centres in the Mullaittivu district.
