Sri Sumangala enter Division III finals

Sri Sumangala College, Kandy entered the finals of the Sri Lanka
Schools Division III Limited Over Knock-out Cricket Tournament when they
beat Meepawala Amarasuriya Central College, Galle on a faster run rate
in the semi-finals played at the Open Prison Camp grounds at Pallekele
yesterday.
Sri Sumangala College taking first lease of the wicket scored 203 for
the loss of 9 wickets off 44 overs.
Sri Sumangala's innings was propped up by a sixth wicket stand of 74
between Madusha Premawardena 59 (3 fours, 1 six, 70 balls) and Shashika
Bandara 51 (1 six, 4 fours, 58 balls).
Lakshitha Lakmal was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 26.When
Meepawala Amarasuriya Central College batted rain interrupted play when
they were 76 for 1 off 12.3 overs at 3.16 p.m.
When play resumed later the Parabola System was implemented with the
batting side required to get 120 runs in 20 overs for a decision to be
reached.
They batted on and a revised target was set. When bad light stopped
play they had to get 154 in 28 overs, but they had scored only 148.
