Harri Kizhan going places in chess

CHESS: Harri Kizhan, the 4 1/2 year-old montessori student of Kiddies Pep student whose early progress in the game of chess was highlighted in the Sunday Observer, seems to be going places in the sport at this early age.

He was a participant at the All-Island Age group Individual Chess Championship for under-8 age group and won three matches playing against a champion.

Then early this month he won one match and lost the other. Finally four players won 4 matches each and little Kizhan qualified on points as first runner-up.

Harri Kizhan's progress is carefully monitored by his teacher Priyangika Ranasinghe and Kizhan is making steady progress as a chess player.
