Yoshida International - under-15 champs at Biyagama Circuit Meet

ATHLETICS: The athletes of Yoshida International School, Sapugaskanda came to the forefront when they won the under-15 Biyagama circuit athletic championship recently and thereby qualified for the zonal meet to be held on April 1 at St. Anthony's College grounds at Wattala.

At the Biyagama circuit meet, Yoshida International won the under-15 category and won 14-places inclusive of 6 first places.

The champs are featured along with Chairman of Yoshida International school - President of Mahabodhi Society of Sri Lanka and India - the Chief Incumbent of Japan - Banagala Upatissa Thera and the Co-ordinator of Sports Mrs. Damayanthi Fernando and the athletes - Thejan Gunasekara won 2 first places - shot put and discuss throw, Suminda Sandamal first in javelin throw and Sashi Sulakkhana won 3 first places - 100 metres, 200 metres and long jump and was adjudged the champion athlete.
